Scottsburg Senior High School
Scottsburg Senior High School, also known as Scottsburg High School or SHS, is located in Scottsburg, Scott County, Indiana. It's located roughly 30 miles north of Louisville, KY. Scottsburg High School is a public four-year secondary school accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The school's colors are purple and gold and the mascot is a Warrior. The school had an enrollment of 860 in the 2010-2011 school year. The school has 51 professional staff members, with over 95% having obtained at least a master's degree. Scottsburg Senior High School has a core curriculum made up of subjects in Math, Science, English Language Arts, and Social Studies. Students are required to take 3 years of math, 4 years of English, 3 years of science, Geography/ World History, U.S. History or American Studies, Economics, Government, Careers, Computer Applications, at least 2 years of a foreign language, 1 year of physical education, and a fine arts requirement, among other things.
The school also offers electives in Business, Family & Consumer Sciences, Foreign Languages (Spanish & French), Performing Arts (Band & Choir), Visual Arts, and Vocational Agriculture.
